Mixing Meng with woodworking is usually a recipe for disappointment but we're really proud of how this turned out. And look, we didn't make that big a mess!

By the Way, It Was a Kitchenette
Chimpy got a play kitchen for her birthday, or rather, Chimpy got to help her mommy and daddy make a play kitchen.
Needs an oven handle, sink fixtures and a coat of paint.
Chimpy's current recipe: Oven-warmed Cheese & Tomato Sandwiches.

Four Picture Friday: Play Group Birthday Party
There must be a birthday girl in this picture somewhere. Where is she?
Ah, there she is!
Chimpy and I had a great day today. We brought a party to her play group. There is a good group of regulars there and it's been fun knowing them this last year. It was especially touching to see them starting to understand birthdays and wishing a happy one to Chimpy.
Chimpy was excited from the night before when we told her about the party, but she was on fire from the time we got a bouquet of balloons. She stood and watched the table get set as if it was a great ceremony.
We brought decorations, lemonade and apple juice, Pirate Booty, peanut butter and cracker sandwiches and hamburger cupcakes we made that morning.
A good party always moves to the kitchen or the deck. At Wee Play, it moves to the front steps.
And just when we thought the day couldn't get better, when we got home we found a present from Chimpy's God-daddy.
It really was a great day. We are very lucky people.
