We are at home now, but with 90+ degrees weather I didn't want to swaddle I. Rest assured, I am still the swaddling king.

It took some trial and error but I finally broke the Da Clinchy Code with help from Nurse Trina who gave me the best lesson in swaddling a baby.

Isabel

Born at 10:53am, 7/20/06. 7 pounds, 7 ounces, 19.5 inches tall. Mama and baby are doing great.

Going to the Hospital

To prepare for the imminent cuteness, I have been going to Cute Overload. The moment's here and I'm not ready! How can you prepare to fall in love?

As K and I don't have the technology availble to Conan O'Brien, we have to imagine what Isabel is going to look like. Maybe she'll look like this or this. We really have no idea, so we pulled out our baby photos. I have a feeling she isn't going to look like either of these weirdos.

Batik & Creativity

Here's a detail of a beautiful batik quilt Isabel's Nana (Meng's ma) made for her. This baby is inspiring creativity in a lot of people—we've received handmade blankets, hats, socks, this quilt, promises of baby photography and original art (not explicitly for Isabel, but it's going in the nursery)—and yet, I haven't drawn in ages. Things are looking good, though, the home renovations are almost done I'll soon have my hands out of drywall plaster and back into crayons.
