If I want the Christmas Cow to come visit do I leave out a platter of grass and grains instead of cookies?

Did she make that up or do you have a storybook with a Christmas cow in it? Priceless.
We were shopping for Christmas ornaments when Chimpy found one of those animatronic music-playing toys. It was a cow wearing a Santa hat and when you pinch its hoof, it moos 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas.' That was the inspiration, the rest is her own invention. And yes, the appropriate thank you is a plate of alfalfa and a small glass of Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider.
